sigh this problem froze my pc twice and I had to turn it off with the power button. damaging my pc. is it totally fixed now?

How can it damage your pc ??? if you read the information Eddy has linked then you’ll see it was fixed.

a message from avast does not freeze a PC nor does it damage it.

I was updating my PC. Avast warning message popped up(svchost wanted to reach that IP, who knows why), and soon after that, my PC froze. That happened twice so now my windows is going crazy on me. Well I will update my Avast but I hope it is really fixed. I just want to update my PC… I know Avast caused this because it happened as soon as the block message popped up. Twice.

It is ofcourse not smart to update while you have applications running that are not really needed at that time.
e.g. browser

I didn’t have my browser open. My svchost wanted to reach that IP as I mentioned. Even if my browser was open, I still wouldn’t expect my Avast to block a random IP and freeze my PC. Been using it for a long time and it’s been reliable. Until today.

Well, you had something open/running that was not needed.

avast doesn’t block random IP’s/Domains.

Well Avast team accidentally blocked that random IP address so… things happen I guess
If you guys are here for the solution but too lazy to click on that link, here is the solution ;D

update your Avast database!
