With Avast installed, Outlook opens very slowly. By this I mean that the Outlook splash screen is displayed for several seconds before disappearing. Usually, it opens instantaneously. Uninstalling Avast remedies the problem. Any ideas?
I am using Outlook 2003, messenger is disabled, Avast splash screens disabled.
I wonder if it is just the added delay of the Avast Outlook plug-in opening along with Outlook.
If I’m not wrong, clicking in the ‘about’ dialog of Outlook you can control the behavior of avast! pluggin… Sometimes, in the past, some users correct the functionality and delay of the avast! pluggin this way… Hope this help.
