I am running xp home edition and everything seems to be working fine with avast except that outlook/exchange is “waiting for a subsystem to start.” This has been the case since the installation of avast. Internet mail is “currently running.”
Any suggestions? Thanks

The module Outlook/Exchange is meant for Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Exchange email clients.
Outlook Express is not the same and Avast scans it automatically as part of it’s internet mail functionality.
Unless you have MS Outlook or Exchange installed, the message you see is correct. The subsystem can’t start because it isn’t there.
