Outlook Express and new version..stopped working

Outlook Express 6 will not allow mail in or out
if I remember it was something about a port change?

You need to disable SSL/TLS encryption and leave ports at normal (25,110,143). Answered many times a week here, and documented in avast! help and KB as well.
