Outlook Express and SSL port problem

Hi to everyone, this is my first topic here  Thank you for your work 8)
Here’s the problem: I’m trying to set the exact port for email check but avast go out of time during the protection.
This is how my account is configurated in OE:

How you can see the traffic used the SSL protection and pass through the ports 465 (smtp) and 995 (pop3)

This how I setted the avast! 4.6:

without this setting OE works very well, with this check OE go out of time and wait in vain endless. These are the error windows:

Is this setting necessary? Where I put a wrong setting?
Please help me, I want to use all the feature of avast! because I don’t trust in OE.
Thank you very much for your help.
Regards

In short, the avast mail scanner doesn’t support SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connections…
But take a look here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=10428.0 to see how to set up secure email with avast!.
Since SSL/TLS e-mail is encrypted and decrypted in the client, external virus scanners (including avast!) can’t read or scan it.
The solution is to pass e-mail in and out un-encrypted from your client (Outlook Express, Thunderbird, …) to a proxy program (Stunnel) that does the actual ssl or tls encryption/decryption of the pop3/smtp e-mail and communicates directly with the ISP server on the appropriate ports. Another drivers (OpenSSL) are need as a library of encryption/decryption routines.

Thank you very much for your help, I was trying to read the 3D but it’s too hard for me, specially because is english :frowning:
Do you think that future releases of Avast! will support SSL?
I can wait
Thank you again

I think not. External virus scanners can’t read or scan SSL connections…
The procedures are not that difficult. I have to do them as I use GMail… It’s working.

This might help with translation a handy bookmark for future use.
