Outlook Express instead of Outlook: "waiting for a subsystem"

Hey!
I changed my e-mail client from MS Outlook to Outlook Express. With Outlook, Avast did what it has to do: scanning.
But now, with Outlook Express, it does nothing. It is “waiting for a subsystem”. I read about the “e-mail protection wizard”, but it seems as if I don’t have this wizard (in the start menu - programs etc.).

What am I to do?
Tnx in advance,
trin.

You have to switch from using the Outlook/Exchange provider to the Internet Mail provider.

Thank you very much!
Maybe my (rather stupid) question is also a good suggestion to add on your F.A.Q. ?

Cya,
trin.

The message “The provider is waiting on the subsystem to start” will be shown there until you open MS Outlook.
The plugin will be enable automatically then

If you don’t need it, as you change your email client, you can disable it or even uninstall it:
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove
Then choose Change function in the popup window
See the providers you need/want

The help file should indicate which provider is required.

"Outlook/Exchange" - Provider Settings

This setting affects MS Outlook and MS Exchange mail clients only. For setting up the other mail clients, such as Outlook Express, Eudora etc., see Internet Mail Provider.
