Outlook has deactivated ashoutxt.dll

Hi!
I have found out that my MS Outlook 2003 (XP Professional) has deactivated ashoutxt.dll. Apparently it keeps Outlook from working properly.
How should I react on this information?
What risks do I encounter by having this deactivated?
Pro’s and Con’s?

Thanks for your answer. It is greatly appreciated
Sasso

What was the full error message relating to the deactivation ?
Did it work previously and for how long ?

What version of avast are you using 4.8.1169 is the latest ?
Did this happen after the update ?

There are many using Outlook 2003 with avast without problem, try enabling it again.

Thanks for the reply. I can’t give you any useful answers, I am afraid. I don’t know when it happened - I just found the deactivation list in Outlook - and I haven’t got the slightest clue how long time it has been deactivated.
As far as I can see in Avast (4.8-1169) Outlook protection is deactivated! I’ll turn it on instantaneously and hope for the best. ::slight_smile:

No problem, glad I could help.

Good luck.
