I am hoping that someone will be able to provide some guidance on what I need to do to eliminate a problem where Outlook freezes whenever I select an e-mail message and then click on the SPAM icon in Avast. I am then forced to restart Outlook and then get a message saying Outlook has a conflict with the Avast add-in. I am running Win7 Home Premium 64 bit. I just installed Avast Internet Security yesterday and, to this point in time, it feels like I wasted my money. Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.
what AV did you use before installing avast?
did you uninstall it before installing avast?
did you remove it according to vendors instructions / tools. http://www.avast.com/en-eu/faq.php?article=AVKB11
I have only used free Avast on this machine and did the upgrade from there.
I am then forced to restart Outlook and then get a message saying Outlook has a conflict with the Avast add-in.ok try this.... controlpanel > ad/remove programs > avast > uninstall / change > repair option ......
did that change anything?
Thanks for the suggestion, Pondus, however, that didn’t make any improvement. Still locking up Outlook as soon as I click on the SPAM icon after highlighting the e-mail message.
