For the past several months I have been getting an Avast error on my screen every morning following my nightly scan.
The error message states: the process cannot access the file because because another process has locked a portion of the file (33).
The files it is referencing is: c:\users\username\appdata\local\microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost
How can I get Avast to either ignore that file when it scans or fix the problem some other way?
Thanks for any input into this issue.

is your outlook mail program open when you do the scan?
if so, try close it and see if that changes anything…

I do normally run the scan while Outlook is running. I’ll shut down Outlook and try running the scan again.
