What do you think?
There was once a topic on trialpay in this forum so a search might be worthwhile. Personally I either couldn’t grasp the concept of how they could give away software that you would normally have to pay for or didn’t like the way it worked and how did the company get paid for the product.
Trialpay is supposed to pay them, so what is in it for trialpay, how do they make their money.
I’m basically suspicious of any get something for nothing ;D
I use Outpost Pro version 4 and have used it 'outpost for several years first with the free version and then purchased the Pro version on a lifetime upgrade deal. I’m guessing that you get a limited licence and you would have to pay for future upgrades.
There are some who don’t like the latest version as they are experiencing some problems, I have to admit my version isn’t fully up to date as I have lost confidence in the last two small build updates which caused some problems ‘for others.’ The firewall if working on your system is very good, just don’t go loading it up with the various plug-ins that come with it as that can have an interaction with avast and slow things down. Also there is currently no Vista support and won’t be for at least a few months.
At present Agnitum seem to be putting their efforts into getting Outpost Security Suite (OSS) out the door, I feel to the detriment of the stand alone Outpost Firewall Pro and OSS also isn’t Vista compatible. I fear they are shooting themselves in the foot trying to get into the suite market place, we will have to see. http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum/index.php would be worth a visit to see some of the issues.
Sorry for going on at length, as you can probably guess I can’t give an unreserved recommendation for Outpost Firewall Pro.

This basically confirms my suspicions on hidden hoops you have to jump through and what else you might have to do for them to make their money to be able to give away a paid for product.
My suspicions were strong enough not to even consider going through any initial registration.

I'm basically suspicious of any get something for nothing
One of the first free programs I downloaded was avast!. I was suspicious of anything free, avast! probably isn’t very good. ;D I soon learned avast! is one of the best programs of any type, paid or free.
There are a lot of free programs that contain malware & spyware. It pays to be suspicious of anything free! I don’t want to get something I don’t want just to get something “free” even if is a DiscoverCard. It then isn’t really free as you are paying a price. Don’t get me wrong, DiscoverCard is a good card, I’m just saying it is the price you’re paying for the “free” item.
There is a difference you are downloading a free program version that has no restrictions and if you want you can elect to buy the Pro paid for version, so it is slightly different you aren’t getting the paid for pro version for free from a third party, that is when I get suspicious.
Yes there are many good free programs out there that don’t have adware/spyware and they are usually available directly not through a third party which you have to register with, unlike a third party download site like snapfiles, majorgeeks, etc.
That is it if you are aware of the price you pay for the ‘free’ product and if you would be happy to have that service, fine, but be sure to read the Terms & Conditions and Privacy policy in fine detail.
Is this really free?
Absolutely. Provided you try or buy from one of our trusted advertisers.
Surely there’s a catch?
No catch. The reason it’s free is because our advertisers who sponsor our offers are willing to pay for new customers - like you.
When will I receive my product?
In some cases instantly, but it depends on the offer you select.
How do I get my product?
We will email you with details on how to receive your free product. We guarantee every transaction on our platform
free but still you have to buy something to get something…so why did they say its FREE when you still have to pay for something ??? :
wonder how many people have fallen for this one and others like it :o
I do not believe in any trialpay offer, period.
Why do they offer a program as being free when it isn`t, absolutely…?
What we are all saying hear I believe has already been said in a previous topic about trialpay or some similar operation. I did try to find it in the forums search but failed
So, we talk again ;D ;D
