i have avast home newest version(updated)and am using bit torrent and downloading files, when i look at p2p shield count it says scan count 0,is it scanning bit torrent downloads?shouldnt it have a # in the scanned count?bri
You don’t say what your OS is and Bit Torrent can only e monitored if, 1) it is selected and 2) if you are using winNT/2K/XP.
sorry for that,xp pro and every p2p program is ckecked
Whilst I don’t use any p2p applications, some can use different ports to communicate and that may avoid the p2p monitoring. There have been occasions where some use the email ports and that caused issues so one I know for sure (utorrent) has been added to an Internet Mail ignore list so I don’t know if this might be similar.
What ports are being used by bit torrent for communication and file transfer ?
Does the avast icon rotate during or just after p2p download if so it might be being scanned by standard shield. Perhaps enabling the ‘Show detailed info on performed actions’ migh show if anything is being scanned outside the p2p shield.
If I’m not wrong, the number of scanned files could increase only when a download is finished and the file is saved.
I think P2P provider does not scan the traffic (while downloading).
I’m not sure anyway…
What I know is that eMule and Shareaza have their files scanned by the P2P avast provider.
