Package Broken -- Uninstall not working.

Win 7 Home Sony Vaio

Getting the message Package Broken. I can’t update the program or the definitions and I’m getting the message uninstall is not successful. Oh, I also tried “repair” as seen in other messages. I get “error processing repair” do full update. But, I did a new download and the package won’t install.

Please help!

Try deleting the set-up file, then re-download the set-up file, then try running the set-up file.
I know it sounds like a pain…but it worked for me. Also a little more info would be nice…OS and any other security software you have now or have had in the past. :slight_smile:

Thanks for the help. Finally got it going (thanks!) :smiley: but I did need two additional reboots.

At the beginning of the post I did list the program version and also my OS. I’ve only used Avast!, haven’t used another virus program in years.
