– End of Deckard’s System Scanner: finished at 2007-12-06 12:05:58 ------------

Now what coach. What do you think of OA as a firewall third party. Doesn’t my DSL have a firewall though as well?

First things first. Still missing the secind part of the main log. You posted the first half. The part that is missing is what comes after your post in reply # 22

With that part of the log, I’ll be able to see any left overs. You can attach the log to your post if you wish by clicking the addioal options, at the lower left corner of the reply box, scroll dwon a bit and you will see a small white box with browse beside it, click the browse button and navigate to this folder

c:\Deckard\logs

Just click on the c:\ and click open, scroll down until you see Deckard in the left panel, do this until you see a file called main.log or main.txt in the right hand window. When you do, click on it, click open. The window should close and your file will appear in the small box. Click post.

Or copy and paste as you have been doing.

As for Online Armour. the best place to ask is in the general topics forum. With win98se, I’m limited in what I can use, so I have no first hand knowledge of this firewall.

We can at least get the bad guys that I can see now.

Open a new Notepad session (Do not use a Word Processor or WordPad). Click “Format” and be certain that Word Wrap is not enabled.

Copy and paste all the text in the quote box below into Notepad.

Click File, Save as…, and set the location to your Desktop, and enter (including quotation marks) as the filename: “CFscript.txt” . Click save. Using your mouse, drag the new file CFscript.txt and drop it on the ComboFix.exe icon as shown at the bottom of this post.

File:: C:\WINDOWS\pmkret.dll C:\WINDOWS\monhop.exe

This will start ComboFix again.Close all browser/windows first. After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply together with a new DSS log.

Sorry for the long delay. I had some interruptions, so I could not focus on my puter. I will be sending logs under seperate cover this evening. When U can take a look.
Thanks, Struggling

All done I trust. I hope I did this correctly Sure wish I knew what all this meant. The other half I figured out. I don’t understand why we needed to do this part the .dll file and .exe???

I don't understand why we needed to do this part the .dll file and .exe???

Because those are two nasty files that must go. It is a script designed to make combofix remove the files.

If you haven’t run the fix yet, please do so now and post just the combo fix log.

If you have tried doing that fix, it didn’t work, the files are still there. So…

Please download the OTMoveIt http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/oldtimer/OTMoveIt.exe by OldTimer.
Save it to your desktop.
Please double-click OTMoveIt.exe to run it.
Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

C:\WINDOWS\pmkret.dll
C:\WINDOWS\monhop.exe

Return to OTMoveIt, right click on the “Paste List of Files/Folders to be moved” window and choose Paste.
Click the red Moveit! button.
Copy everything on the Results window to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it on your next reply with a new DSS log.
Close OTMoveIt
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.
