Page not displayed in browser if online security active

Latest version of Avast.

Pages are not loaded. Seems to be mainly when following a link from a search page. No page is displayed though it finishes loading the google redirection scripts - refreshing the page displays it.

Probably I’m missing a setting - any suggestions welcome.

PS - 6 attempts to read the captcha - it’s very messy.

Go to add/remove and right click avast and click on change. Un-tick the Browser Protection aka Avast Online Security and follow the instructions. Avast will uninstall the Avast Online Security Add-on for you and after it gets uninstalled do a manual restart of your computer.

Hi Staticguy, thanks for info much appreciated.

I’ve only recently installed Avast and I’d like to keep the web security features running if possible but it’s a pita having to refresh every page I open through google, in order to see it.

I write software, to me this is a bug unless I’ve missed a setting that prevents pages opening normally. Unfortunately I will have to uninstall it if I can’t find a solution.

Thanks again
Steve

Your welcome. As of late and it’s been some years that the Avast Online Security is causing some issues/problems to view webpages and it is also become unresponsive. Simply uninstalling this and restart your computer will fix the issues that you faced.

I have no problems with AOS and it does offer some extra security measures.
I do however change some of the settings in AOS to avoid problems.
See if this helps you:
