Can anyone help with this please. Have the details from the 1 yr paid registration email (& the registration #) but that number won’t work in the Registration code box - it’s too long - any ideas please?

OK, if anything that has muddied the waters even more:
What version of avast have you got installed (4.8 or 6.0 pro) ?
What license have you got (4.8 or 6.0 pro) ?
The license for avast 4.8 pro won’t work in avast 6 pro and vice versa, so you can’t have entered it and the avast 6 pro trial would only give you 30 days unrestricted use.
Avast 4.8 is virtually on its last legs with support unlikely to continue for much longer, so you should install avast 6 pro. The only reason not to is if you have an old unsupported OS, win9.x, winME.
Where did you get this license ?
I though that avast had stopped selling avast 4.8 licenses.
If you have a legit avast 4.8 license it can be converted for use with avast 6.
