Paid for what equates to the Avast Free Verision!!!

So i paid for avast 1 year ago and i been told by the techs of avast that i am not able to have and use the avast firewall because my computer is not allowing the firewall to work i have a windows 8 computer. The techs have worked on it for what would equate to a full 24-48hrs straight and they then gave up and told me to use windows firewall instead but as i am aware the point to using the avast and buying it is to have the firewall and the advance features to my understanding they are only giving me the basic features i told them this i got the well we can no longer help you bs and now i am basically left wondering is this normal that avast would treat the customer this bad?

Let me know im debating on asking for a refund since they done nothing more then make me pay for the free version.

What actual paid version do you have Pro, AIS, Premier and what is the release number ? the latest is 8.0.1489

Also please list any other security software installed including what AV was used prior to the installation of avast and how you removed it ( did you complete the uninstallation with the vendors removal tool ) ?

im not sure how to check this since they updated the design. i never studied the design enough to find the software version nor update status…

ok i found the area i am and have always been updating but yes to the question im up-to-date to the version you asked…
as for the version type: i only see the type as “Avast! internet security”

Repair avast!:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → avast!
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

Even without the firewall, you still don’t have what you call a free version:

The above are items not included in the free version and
at present the only one you’re lacking is the firewall.

Hopefully the help provided here will be able to help you get that working also.
