Panda Burning worm
December 07, 2009, Malware News
Our spyware lab has encountered a re-birth of the old Panda Burning worm, actually better known under its alias as Net-worm.Piloyd.xx. The first known version of this worm appeared in China and experts agree that China is also were it was produced.
The initial version changed the icons of files it infected into pictures of a Panda and then with the help of malware, it stole passwords and sent them to the attackers.
The current updated version, which is now supported by a rootkit and functions for disabling security software, continues with the same tactic of stealing passwords and installing other malware into your computer.
