Any thoughts or comments? I like both of these AV’s, so what would it take to run them together?
I’ve done that very shortly while trying out Panda Cloud, no problem at all as long as you just run the system and nothing “special” happens, i.e. an infection >>> that’s when generally problems can occur with two AVs installed because each of them will attempt to take care of the infected process/files, while preventing the other AV from doing the same. The result can be two blocked AVs, and a potentially unprotected system.
Any thoughts or comments? I like both of these AV's, so what would it take to run them together?two computers side by side...... ;D
Using more than one anti-virus program is not advisable.

As far as I’m aware Panda detects avast and normally insists you uninstall avast, which given the other posts I assume you can ignore.
Getting two resident (as that is effectively what Panda is trying to do) AVs to work together isn’t advised as they load low level drivers and it is these that cause the problems with conflict.
Panda is about the fattest cloud I have come across as it is over 70MB download, very heavy for a so called cloud solution, so its download is way larger than avast’s installation file at 42MB for a resident AV.
There are other cloud options that do work with avast, though I haven’t even considered them worth testing.
This is stated on Panda Cloud’s website, so what think you? I don’t really see a big difference in running a software like Threatfire or Panda, but am not sure.
“Panda Cloud:Ability to run alongside other AVs and Anti-Spyware. Can now be run alongside other security tools and scanners.”
you may check on Panda Cloud Forum then, to see if anyone have done it…http://www.cloudantivirus.com/forum/index.jspa
Thank’s one and all. I will check this combo out further and see what I can find out…
It won’t increase that much the avast detection.
I would use resident ThreatFire or MBAM (paid) if you want more than one resident to protection.
You are probably right Tech…I respect your professional opinion and I am good at detecting truth when I see it, so thank’s!
