Panda has improve, now its creams avast.. by .8 %

LATEST av-comaprtive test
panda missed less than avast in MARCH

So why are you here ???

Not saying that I dont like avast, I am just saying that Pana has improved

I guess I interpret your post differently that you. Your post and the title of this thread
has nothing in it about “Panda id Improving”

Loook again

Same question, why are you here ???

Panda sucks with no internet, avast has behavior etc etc

@HS2234: dun worry too much about the few % difference between panda and avast. this .8% is insignificant as this is just a signature test.

this difference could easily vary with a different reputable AV tester eg. AV-TEST may have the opposite results.

moreover, this is just an on-demand scan. no heuristics/behaviour protection is considered…this means essentially avast autosandbox/filerep features are not avaliable to help avast in this ‘protection’ results.

The only “tests” that I rely on is my own experience. avast has never, ever let me down. Those tests are in a controlled environment. My tests involve my own personal use. I used to put a lot of weight on those tests. Now I no longer care. What matters to me is that my computer has been infection free for over two years. I trust avast. Period.

.8% is statistically insignificant. And, the test does not tell which samples were missed or detected by each vendor. For all we know, avast! could have detected a more dangerous sample that panda missed or vice versa.

+1

Pandas are cute but I would never allow one near my computers ;D ;D

HI I have used avast for a few years now probably going on six years now and I must say that I have never had a dangerous virus on my computer or malware as we all now antivirus software is not 100% perfect. The reason I stay will avast antivirus software free is because Panada free is not as old as avast and panda does not have the experince in removing viruses malware. Avast has been in this game for a long time.

I don’t really put much stock in antivirus tests. I go with what works and I will never trade avast free for any antivirus on the internet I stick with what works.

You are a great company Avast Software
keep up the great work Avast team.

Alwil software = 1988 Panda = 1990

so Panda does not have the experince in removing viruses malware? ;D

Don’t scare me guys. In August, I’ll be buying 6 more licenses. 8)

I would be cautious about Panda for a different reason.

I frequently check out AV software to see if I want to switch. (I have three machines at home, and am more or less responsible for another few.) A few months ago, I decided to once again to try Panda. I couldn’t even get it to install properly on my main - admittedly old - machine, so I decided to forget about it. I started getting email warnings that my trial copy was about to expire. Fair enough. But I kept getting promotional emails from them even well after the expiration, and even after I went through their multistage unsubscribe procedure a few times.

It is now clear that I will be on their mailing list forever. To get spammed by a well known computer security vendor is unnerving.

Good luck.
C.

0.8 % matters a lot when you have large no samples.

+1

The graph shows Panda has 98.6%, while avast scores 98.0% in a 300k sample test.

The difference is only .6%

So Basically the sample test Panda has the advantage of thousands detection over Avast.

Conclusion Im loyal to Avast . 8)

Some people seem to forget that there is a difference between a sample test and, the every day usage test.

I use my computer every day and my system is clean and secure protected by avast!7
It’s the every day usage test that really matters.

I haven't been using it long enough to talk about it's efficacy, but my initial impressions are extremely positive. I'm using it alongside my primary A/V, Avast free, along with the Comodo Firewall and it runs so quietly in the background you'd never know it was there. I love Avast, but haven't always felt as secure as I'd like.
