Paranoid or Nah?

Hello everyone. I am relatively new to posting on this forum, but i wanted to ask if I’m being rather paranoid.

Perhaps i should explain.

My normal laptop’s boot time is 25 seconds default. Pretty fast.

However, today after i was shutting down and resetting, i came upon something odd.

Normally whenever my computer starts up, it has a black screen for normally 5 seconds before it shows the hp logo and the circling dots…

Recently, its been lasting 10 seconds instead of 5.

I thought it was a avast issue, repaired it, and when i relaunched immediately afterwards, it took 5 seconds again, huzzah!

As one final test, i tried once again…

Back to 10 seconds.

However the overall load time is still 25 seconds oddly enough. Should i just dismiss it or be a bit paranoid?

*Note: Load time is time until desktop and icons are on screen.

Laptop boot time can very. For me it’s never exactly the same time, every time.
Especially after a Windows Update.
I never pay much attention to the different times if it’s only seconds.

Run a scan with Malwarebytes to see if you have some PUP or other stuff

I ran a Malware Bytes scan and found no malware

I think I’m just being overly paranoid to be honest.

I’m also slightly freaking over my memory being higher than normal with each start up, though that could be compression and superfetch and me being sensitive to the smallest hiccup.

One area you are correct about is how you handle your laptop:

Something to think about and take action on.

I wouldn’t worry about an increase of start up time if it is only a few seconds.
