passive mode won't turn off

avast keeps asking me to turn off passive mode and i go through all the steps but it remains off - i have used the internal repair procedure, uninstalled and reinstalled twice - but it still doesn’t work

Please (re)search before posting.
It is a known bug that avast needs to fix.
