Password lock out

I’m after running into a problem with my password settings.
Pretty much I set a password, didn’t use the program in a while and now can’t remember it.

I’ve looked in older threads and followed the instructions I found that were repeated in every single one of them, but it still hasn’t fixed the problem.

I’ve uninstalled Avast using the Uninstall Utility in Safe Mode, then I’ve redownloaded the setup.exe and reinstalled it, but when I try to get into the newly downloaded Avast it still asks for a password.

Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong?

Which avast…?
Which version…?

Well after uninstalling my old one, I installed the latest version which is Internet Security 6.

It’s the Trial version.

  1. Download: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_ais.exe
  2. Follow instructions here: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
  3. Reinstall AIS.
  4. Reboot.
    Solved…??

Unless you’re in an insecure environment, why are you setting passwords ???

Yeah, that’s what I did last time, completely uninstalled and then did a clean install.

But when I try to click into the program it still asks me for a password, so I’m not exactly sure what to do next.

It’s more annoying than anything.

Well, follow the instructions and do it again. (Use the file/tool provided…!)
Run the uninstall utility for each version of avast that was installed before.
You have to reboot in between…!!

Are we sure we’re talking about passwords and not license key/file? ???
