Password lost

I lost my avast password. How can I recover it ?

you need to reinstall

reinstall doesn’t seem to do the job. It still requests the password.
There are three avast files down in /system and /etc which I suspect are remembering the old password, but the file system is read-only and I can’t figure how to delete them. They are left behind when you uninstall Avast.
What other ideas can we try?

you need to uninstall both Anti-Theft and Mobile Security because they sync the passwords and uninstalling just one tool is not enough.
