Hello,
This is my first time here, please forgive my lack of understanding.
I clicked on my avast icon to run a basic scan and it is asking me for a password.
I have never consciously put a password on my system.
I have used avast for years.
Obviously since I am the only one who uses my system it stands to reason that I did this unawares…as stupid as that sounds.
Can someone direct me in removing the password and how to keep it that way.
OR, Should I just uninstal Avast and then reinstall with a new?

Yeah, the only way around a lost pass is re-install.
btw, your email address is showing public, you can change that in your forum profile settings (unless you don’t mind).
