Somehow I cannot do anything with my Avast Home as it is asking for a password and I cannot figure out what it is. I have looked on Avast.com and cannot find anything to help you out.
Has this happened to anyone before and what can I do? I am locked out from my own antivirus protection!

Did anyone set a password for changing the program settings ?
That as far as I’m aware is the only password in avast, are you sure it isn’t a registration key it is asking for (I know totally different) ?
How long have you had avast 4 home ?
No, it’s definately asking for a password upon trying to access the Protection Control, to stop, anything. A pop up comes up asking for password with nothing saying hint if you forget. It’s like a windows pop up password when you secure certain websites…

I’m not sure what you mean by Protection Control, you are probably working from memory as you can’t access what you want to access.
Lets start with what are you doing, to access this protection control (possible the On-Access Scanner screen, see image) double clicking the avast icon, right clicking the icon ?
What if you don’t enter a password and click OK what happens ?
