Somehow I noticed under “status” that my password security is deactivated and I should activate it. But clicking on the activate button does nothing. WTF? Anybody facing the same issues?
Repair Avast:
- Avast GUI → Settings → Troubleshooting
- Click on ‘REPAIR APP’.
- Follow instructions.
- Reboot.

PS: You can disable the ads in the paid versions: Avast GUI → Settings → Personal Privacy

First, be sure to get rid of all remnants of any prior installed AV(s)…!!

Then:
- Download Avast Premium Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premium_security_setup_offline.exe
- Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
- Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
- Reboot.
