I cannot open anything in the blue ball . Keeps calling for a password but I have never used 1 or set 1 up??
HELP!!! ???

That’s strange.
The usual questions would include: Does anyone else use the computer?
How long has Avast been installed?
Is this a recent problem, ie: have you been able to open it in the past?

If you’ve forgotten the password, I suggest an installation from the scratch:

  1. Uninstall avast from Control Panel first.
  2. Boot.
  3. Download the latest version of Avast Uninstall and use it for complete uninstallation.
  4. Boot.
  5. Install again the latest avast! version.
  6. Boot.
  7. Check and post the results.

Where is this PW seen ? I was never asked to type one nor to enter one.

It is in the avast icon right click menu, see image.

If you can’t recall setting it or remember it the only way to resolve the problem is a clean reinstall as Tech shows.

Are you logged as an administrator?
Does anybody else could log as an administrator in your computer?

Hey, Tech and DavidR, I am not the one with the PW problem, I can not as I never saw this PW option.
