Passwords not working with firefox after newest Avast Update

The avast passwords manager is not working after the newest avast update. The key shows up in the firefox options area, but it is grayed out. It says I have to activate it. I tried a few things, including shut down, restart, and that didn’t help so I removed passwords from firefox and now I don’t know how to put it back.

I now have to install Avast passwords, every time I close Firefox. It only takes a few clicks to do it of course but still annoying.
