I have just installed avast 4 onto my laptop running XP. I also run zonealarm and sophos, but forgot to switch them off.
Now when I boot the lap top up, I get as far as the desk top but within a couple of seconds everything just freezes up.
I dont even have time to reach the control panel.
Serious help needed please. Any suggestions???

Boot into Safe Mode (let me know if you don’t know how) and remove either Avast or Sophos from the Control Panel.
Thats done the trick I think, Thanks for a quick reply its much appreciated. I’ve removed sophos, so I’ll see how everything runs now.
