Please help if poss
My 2012 refurbished dell desktop keeps detecting something and shutting down and rebooting it shows a blue screen with white wording . It’s also only working with two Rem boards coz the other two were faulty replacement boards will arrive shortly .

Any ideas on wot could be causing the problem as I’m totally clueless when it comes to the tech side of running a computer.
Not sure if that photo below helps .

Many thanks

Yawn I’m Back! Yawn

The error displayed (Currently) is a Registry Error. Something is attempting to set a value in a protected key, and M$ doesn’t like it. Hence Access is Denied. I’m guessing you’re not running an Admin account, or a system inside a domain. This shouldn’t be causing a shutdown…

No, it’s not almost always malicious. The School systems I have access to have; all forms of Reg Access (Under Local Machine…) are actively blocked to Student access (And teacher, except Tech Teachers).

What would be more interesting to see is the BSOD crash reports, as well has an FRST, aswMBR, and MBAM Scan.

FRST/aswMBR/MBAM instructions can be found @ https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

BSOD Crash reports (*.dmp) can be located @ C:\Windows\MiniDump.

Post All crash reports to www.wikisend.com (ZIP all of them, and upload it as CrashDump.zip). Post the D/L link here to the tech’s can take a look. Depending on when you respond, and where people live (I see we have a new one :-)). An answer might take a several hours.

Edit: Fixed my trashy Shieac (English and French…) lol

Note: Typing an answer after just finishing Pre-Calc 12A homework isn’t a good idea D:

Have you Attempted any versions of Safe Mode?

I’d recommend getting Safe Mode w/ Networking. I’m guessing you have Windows 7 (2012 refurbished). If not, let me know and I will obtain some instructions for the correct OS. The bit (x86/32bit, x64/64bit) is also crucial.

Re-reading your post, what is a “rem board”?

The second picture (Imgur one) actually provide less info the the first one.

In the meantime. If a “rem board” is like a DOA MOBO, (Damaged Motherboard), you’re likely looking at Faulty hardware as a source of issues.

I will snag an expert who knows a little more then I do to assist you further.

I’ve ordered two new boards due to finding two faulty ones, this desktop problem started with them last Sunday when my DT started bleeping at me and wouldn’t complete a start up so used iPad and surfed YouTube for answer and can up with faulty boards .

Using Kingston RAM on a MoBo likely designed by Dell can lead to issues.

Have you switched the RAM out BACK to Dell Standard RAM? It also, although I cannot verify, that you have crossed the RAM? I’m almost wondering at this point if you’re pushing the limits of your board by using un-QVL RAM inside the mobo.

The fact you have 2 fried boards is worrying to say the least. At this point I’m not thinking this is a Software or even virus issue. I think you will be better served at http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/forum/9-hardware-components-and-peripherals/ for this form of issue to be honest.

A BSOD Crash report could verify this (Maybe?). However, if it is a Hardware issue, changing out to Safe Mode likely will not do anything for you. I really do recommend you visit G2G, ask some questions and get some help their. They’re extremely knowledgeable in this (And Malware assistance too!). Essexboy, one of the malware/virus experts here actually teaches there. Although it’s been mentioned to me he is on Vacation.

Cleaned PC with compressed air and now the fans are going twice the speed…

I really do recommend you go to G2G. Just to confirm, although nothing is wrong with cleaning your fans. Did you HOLD the fans within the case so they do not move? If not, you risk frying more boards, and overvolting things within it.

Please refrain from doing anymore work, and consult G2G Tech’s. They are a million times more knowledgeable then I am. I’ve worked with the, before, and never lead me stray.

Fan stayed in the housing as I’m not tech savvy… What is the full address for G2G please .

Thanks for the assist. :+1::clap::star:
