Hi,
My pc boots fine, and everything works as it should do. However, almost randomly after a couple of minutes (sometimes as many as 20) the whole thing just locks up and becomes unresponsive. I have run spybot, avast boot and reg cleaners and a bunch of stuff. Things were removed but the problem remains. I sometimes boot without my wifi enabled and the problem appears to be fixed.

I’m not an expert on HijackThis, so I suggest:

  1. Disable System Restore and reenable it after step 3.
  2. Clean your temporary files.
  3. Schedule a boot time scanning with avast with archive scanning turned on.
  4. Use SUPERantispyware and/or Spyware Terminator to scan for spywares and trojans. If any infection is detected, better and safer is send the file to Quarantine than to simple delete than.
  5. Test your machine with anti-rootkit applications. I suggest Trend Micro RootkitBuster.
  6. Immunize your system with SpywareBlaster or Windows Advanced Care.
  7. Check if you have insecure applications with Secunia Software Inspector.

Double-click FindAWF.exe to start the tool.
Select “option #1 - Scan for bak folders” by typing 1 and press Enter
When the tool has completed, a report will open up in notepad. Please post the results of the awf.txt as an attachment.

I read my Hijack analysis, I couldnt see anything that wasnt safe or “good”.

The secure applications just turned up out of date java and flash but returned error on missing windows updates.

CureIt turned up nothing.

Antirootkit came up with nothing.
