PC Security Setup - Comments or Suggestions?

Dear Avast Forum gurus and users,

Does anybody have suggestions, comments or thoughts about my PC security setup? (and please not just ‘paranoid’)

Is it wise to always select deep-scan and not just quick-scan (ie. not all files) with the following products?

I run a full boot-time scan every Wednesday and all on-demand scanners listed below are also run on the same day.

I thank you all sincerely for your time and contribution!!!

Best wishes,

Avastfan1

Operating System: Windows XP SP2 (fully updated and patched)
User Account: Restricted Account (ie. a non-admin account)
Web Browser: Firefox 2.0.0.14 (Noscript 1.6 and AdblockPlus ver 0.7.5.4)
Firewall: Zoonealarm Pro 7.0.470.000 (fully updated)
Virusscaner: Avast Pro 4.8.1169 (all modules active and rootkit scan on startup enabled)
On-Demand Spyware/Malware: (note: none of the following are resident or active, rather on-demand)

  • Spybot (version 1.5.2.20 updated but Tea-timer not active)
  • Spybot’s RootAlyzer (latest version)
  • Adware (1.06r1 - manually updated latest definition file)
  • A-squared Free (version 3.5.0.13 - fully updated)
  • AVG Anti-spyware version 7.5 (fully updated)
  • AVG Anti-rookit version 1.1.0.42 (no longer updateable as stand-alone version)
  • SuperAntiSpyware (version 3.9.1008 - fully updated)
  • F-secure Blacklight (latest version)
  • ZooneAlarm Pro’s Anti-Spyware Module (fully updated)

I always like to use a router for the firewall capabilities it provides.

The problem with relying on just a software firewall is if it accidentally turns offs, crashes, is not configured properly or maliciously attacked, your pc is vulnerable.

A router provides an extra layer of protection.
