I am using Avast Pro with 3 licenses. When looking at the usage of the licenses, it shows my PC, which I will refer to as PC1a and PC1b, twice in addition to my two other computers.
PC1a is listed as Current with a green dot and a green shield over the PC graphic and an IP address of xxx.xxx.xxx.3. The first three octets are the same as PC1b.
PC1b is shown under “My Other Devices” as Offline with a red dot and a yellow shield over the PC graphic and an IP address of xxx.xxx.xxx.107.
Also under “My Other Devices” is my Laptop which is shown also as Unknown (it is turned off) with a green dot and a green shield over the PC graphic. The Laptop connects via Wi-Fi only.
In addition is my real second PC which I will refer to as “Weather”. Weather is running 24 hours a day operating my weather station software sending updates to various weather sites including the US Weather Service. It is also shown with a green dot and a green shield over the PC graphic.
All three computers when running go through my TP-Link router. The PC1a (port #4) and Weather (port #3) computers are connected via cable to the router along with my Davis WeatherLink (port #1), my Cox Communications home security Netgear router (port #2), and my Cox Communications modem (Network port). When running, the Laptop is attaching via Wi-Fi.
What on earth is this PC1b computer (or whatever it is)? I am baffled. Everything seems to be functioning fine. Is this something I need to be concerned about and should I get rid of PC1b from the account license usage? If yes, how do I get rid of the PC1b “computer”?
