So, this weird stuttering started yerterday, I can play normally for a few minutes then it starts stuttering for like 5-10 seconds than back to normal, then after some time it starts stuttering again. (fps goes to 3-4)

So I opened a game with task manager opened, I waited till it started lagging/stuttering and I looked in the tasks and I saw that when the game stutters, AvastSvc.exe is using 98% of CPU, and the game stays with 2%, then when the stuttering stops, AvastSvc.exe goes to 0% usage of CPU and the game gets more CPU.

So, avast is the one causing this problems, but it didn’t happen before and I can’t fix it, I tried to play with Silent/Gaming Mode on, same problem, I tried turning all modules off, game still stuttering. I even tried turning modules off and turning Silent/Gaming on, my game still lags.

Anyone know what can I do to fix it? I’m using Avast Free.

Pls try a repair of avast! and reboot fewtimes :slight_smile:

I even re-installed avast completely, still lags my game.

  • Which avast!..?? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)
  • Which version…??
  • OS…?? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP…?)
  • Other security related software installed…??
  • Which AV(s) did you use before avast!..??

Like I said, it’s Avast Free, latest version, everything is up to date.

OS is Win7, the only other security software I have is Malwarebytes and I never used other antivirus software.

Ok.Now Add the two lines in your WebShield.ini

[General]
UseStreamFilter=0
It is located in C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\WebShield.ini Vista, win7 or later - this ProgramData location may be hidden.

You should only use notepad to edit this and you should run notepad.exe as administrator in win7 or higher.
What game do you play?
