Pc taking longer to boot and minor (maybe fixed) internet issue.

Recently i tried to access my routers UI through the web browser and found i was unable to do so with a “took too long to connect” message, every other website i could access just fine. Restarting my pc and router did not fix this issue so i went to reinstall my wifi dongle drivers which after doing so the dongle software would not detect the dongle and lost all connection to the internet, after a while of freaking out it seemed to have fixed itself.

now after doing all this i decided to restart my pc again but noticed it took quite alot longer than normal, it normally only takes a few seconds but now is quite noticeably longer.

ok so aparantly my wifi dongle drivers didnt install but windows is detecting my netgear a6210 as a 802.11ac wireless lan card and is using those drivers and refuses to use the netgear ones.

update: the extra legth in boot time seems to be linked to the netgear dongle which refuses to use its own drivers.

update V2.0: I did a system restore which seems to have fixed my network dongle issue but the long windows login time to my pc still seems to be there.

Logs show that your system now boots from drive F: not C: (which is where Windows is installed). This is why the boot / login takes so long.

how could this happen? i didnt even have any other hard drives other than C inserted when i installed windows. any way to fix?

ok so my pc will boot when only my C hard drive is plugged in so if there a way to tell windows to boot using my C drive or a way to remove the boot components from F without damageing the file contents?

Unfortunately, this is beyond my comfort level on this forum. You can get excellent assistance at BleepingComputer (here) or GeeksToGo (here). The links go directly to the site’s Win10 board; if that is not the proper place for help, one of the Tech members will gladly direct you to the appropriate board.

First thing to do is checking the boot order in the bios/eufi.

only drives listed on the boot order are my C drive and my dvd drive

Go to START and type in disk management. Click on “Create and format hard disk partitions”. What does this show about your attached hard drives?

getting a no results found for disk management but im guessing you mean this screen (see attached) but i cant find a “create and format hard disk partitions” button
