PC very slow boot after uninstalling avast 4.8 (and before installing avast 7)

Hi,

One of our clients is changing from 4.8 (with ADNM) to 7 (with entreprise administration).
His PCs are suddenly booting very slowly after uninstalling avast 4.8. It takes about 10 minutes for the user session to start.
He tried to uninstall using the removal tool on one PC and through safe mode on another. The result is the same.
Avast 7 is not installed yet.
PCs are running on Windows Vista.

Any ideas?

So, did he run the removal tool in safe mode or not…??

Yes, he used the tool in safe mode too (sorry, it wasn’t as clear as I thought).

try to disconnect the network cable then login again, it sound stupid but maybe could help.

What’s their user profiles setup? Do they have user-redirected folders?

The client tried to boot one PC without network. It’s still just as slow as before. So it’s not a network issue.
All PCs are from the same manufacturer (HP), and same model.

He’s going to try to format one PC and see if it does the same with avast 7…

Yes, it’s on SP2.
