I have installed Avast manually (as in run the .exe file) on some PCS then when I look on the ADNM server the PCS are listed under the domain in computer catalogue but in the categories it shows avast not installed and not communicating with the ADNM. I’m not familiar with this software do I need to somehow import those pcs to the server somehow or how do I get ADNM server to recognize the AVAST on those pcs. Picture attached
Instead manual installation, deploy Avast from ADNM console - configure and run installation task
At first, see ADNM manual (RTFM)
Also, you might check to see if the clients have the right IP address set for the AMS server, if not, it can be changed by using aswChAms.exe
It’s usually located in: C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4
Furthermore, the manual can be found here: http://files.avast.com/files/eng/adnmag.pdf
use the tool that scythe points to in this way:
aswchams xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx where the xxx stands for the ip addres of the AMS server
Thank you that worked so now they are getting the license lease from the server. but when I look at the update it’s still updating from the web not the local server, any ideas?
Is the AMS server service running? It should pull updates from the AMS unless it isn’t available or up to date.
below is a screen shot of the avast services on the server
Start the Mirror service and see if it stays started. The only one that shouldn’t be running is the mail scanner unless you have Outlook or other email client running on the server.
Yes thank you very much the mirror serivce fixed it. I have another question I’m trying to install the client remotely I have setup the job selected a computer but it’s not happening and not sure where can i find the log is pointing to.
Also we have updated our licenses couple of months ago but I can find the below error in logs not sure what NETC is?

Check the AMS License. You might just not have enough licenses or the new license hasn’t been installed correctly.
As for the remote install log, you’ll find it in ADNM console under View > Show AMS Logs > Remote Install log.
That log appears to have every remote install ever done, so you’ll need to look towards the end of the file to find newer entries.
Hope that helps.
