Hi,

Getting runtime errors with PDF files in the error log for avast:-

AAVM - scanning error: x_AavmCheckFileDirectEx: avfilesScanReal of XXXXXX.PDF

Any ideas?

What’s the full error? There should be some error code there.

Also, is the file local or remote?

These are remote files. But the user has full access to them.

That is strange because windows error 5 = Access is denied.

This can sometimes happen…
Normally, avast tries to take the identity of the account under which the file was accessed (“impersonate the user”) but sometimes, it can’t do that. And in such a case, it is unable to access the remote resource because it is running under the localsystem account…
