PEACE & WAR:WAR ON ANTIVIR

Antivir has a higher detection rate than Avast. Nothing to fall upon though. While there should be peace among all AV in the war against malware, I suggest war on AVIRA higher detection rate (actually…). Is it legal for the ALWIL team to put AVIRA on one computer and surf with it and study its virus detection? Could AVAST fans with 2 or more computers do like me and install on one pc a copy of AVIRA PE Classic and send any virus detected to the ALWIL laboratories? I think AVAST could soon regain its highest detection rate and win the war against AVIRA.

This would not be illegal to my knowledge but is it ethical for a company to do this?

Also for the user to do this I don’t think there would be any issues with that.

Just buying one license will do it… Using VirusTotal will give you the answer too…

Sure they can. But I don’t want. I’d rather avast than Avira (by now).

Well I respect of course your choice. To go on Virus Total you first have to detect the infected file and as it seems, Avast is a little bit under Antivir PE Classic for the moment (of course, this AV has other main flaws, but I just want to take advantage of its tiny higher detection rate). I think it may help if say 100 users in the world that would have both AV on two different pcs to send an infected file to ALWIL laboratories first to make them aware of the file. If it’s really a virus, all the Avast Community will be instantly protected. No worry. ;D

I wish you’re right… speed here is not the best feature… we’re improving, but there is room for improvement.

I think comparing malware detections of antiviruses is not bad…

BUT for Alwil to rely only to what the other antiviruses can catch is really a no no…An anti-malware company should have its own facility to catch different malwares all over the world…and a submission facility to those who want to help…

They know this. They’re doing this. They’re improving by this way…

I think kaspersky have the best detection rate…
How they can achieved this award…??? They make the virus???
Maybe avast should put some technical department at every country to help improve virus and malware detection as they are the place for user to sent the virus and show the problem face to face…just a suggestion…
Hopefully avast will be more better in the detection…
Yerh i already sent virus called Autorunrad 2 weeks ago…but until now there seems no detection on this script virus…

Go go avast

Of course not. They’re a serious and respected company.

With Internet, this could be done on-line from any part of the world… Better a single headquarter to join the team.
