Hi
we are using AVAST in our LAN with an ADNM.
Since last week we have on different clients problems with the aswServ.exe.
Several times during the day aswServ.exe starts to go wild “taking 100% CPU Time” for about 2 - 5 minutes.
The clients with the problems are from 2003 with AMD Athlon 2000 XP+ or 2400 XP+ with 1 GB RAM.
On newer clients we havn’t found the problem yet.
Can you check the sensitivity of Standard Sheild Provider, it should be set to normal.
maybe you have set it to high? This is often cause for similar problems.
Left click the avast icon in the system tray, choose the Standard Sheild and set → Normal.
OK but with ADNM it’s not simple to see what ashServ.exe is scanning.
I’ve no access on local PC. I can install log software, but this problem appears on 10 Pcs with different configuration.
I think it’s a problem with a new version of avast and a windows update, because this problem has gone after an avast update and a windows update…
