I could not find a solution using the search function, so I am posting it: Avast reports Textsecure as a Virus Scanner problem - now for more than one month. I updated everything, restarted everything and avast confirmed the false alarm - still the warning pops up. Even the protocol of the virus scanner does not have any entries.
Does anyone know a fix for this? Thank you for a short hint if this has been discussed before! :-[
Thanks, Textsecure is an app - How to upload this to virustotal.com? I am using an unmodified/unrooted Xperia Z1 and do not know how to export an apk on this device.
I can use the feedback function in the Info section of Avast Mobile Security if this helps.
Sorry, I have missed that you’re referring to mobile…
I think this is not the first time Textsecure is triggered as infected. Is it marked as PUP (potential unwanted program)?
Thank you, sorry for my late answer, I was on vacations without internet. Yes, this is definitely a false positive. The thing is that even the scanner protocol does not show anything wrong / no hits / nothing. (=no PUP) And the warning comes back again and again.
Did you use ignore last for any chance? You can always delete the data of the avast application (unfortunately you will lose the settings) and try to scan it again.
