Hi…
You can try sending him a PM if he doesn’t respond here.
Although I realize that this has nothing to do with Avast, I hope that in the future, our two countries can iron out our differences and that past hurts and offenses can be forgiven and healed. All things are possible with the Lord!
May God Bless you!
Thank you for fast respond
I can’t find PM button nor allowed to send any !

I hope so , actually I hope that all nations become one and all people live together just like cyber

I think you have to have made a number of posts before you can PM.
Try http://forum.avast.com/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=70
In any case I’ve sent a PM link to your post to igor.
cheers.
Hi all…
If this is the case, I think the policy needs to be revisited. The ability to PM is a necessity at times. :
@ bmossavari: You are more than welcome, glad I could help.
Best Regards…
Well given your obvious faith you wouldn’t have liked the obscene pornographic images spammed to forum members by drive by spammers abusing the PM function. Given that the forums is a mixed community they had to ensure all were protected form drive by spammers.
Personally I don’t feel there is an absolute need for the PM function in early days at the forums, in fact I discourage it even when people have enough posts to use it.
As we are a support forum, PM requests for help are wasting the resource of the forums where a question and answer publicly posted in the forums has the potential to help many people and not just one.
Whilst it might be necessary at times (non-support request), but I don’t really think this is the case, as people will find a way to help, like Vladimyr PMing Igor. So relaxing the rules to cater for the exception, just doesn’t make sense IMHO.
I’ve asked Igor to get contact… Hope he’s not on vacations…
@ardvark and Vladimyr : Thank you both for support
@Tech:Thank you for contacting Igor …crossing fingers
I’m a supporter some where else and I know how can be frustrating to see newbie’s PM with support question , so IMHO DavidR is right and you don’t need to change any policy here , the only problem here is lack of information.
You may need to change You are not allowed to send personal messages. to something more sensible like You need to make # post at least to be able to send personal message
BTW you’re very fast responder and support here is great
excellent job everyone and thank you for support
Hi David…
You’re right, I wouldn’t have! But I had no idea this was going on.
Never mind.
Best Regards…
guys, my personal opinion is that there’s a less priority to translate v4.x to another languages (Farsi, Hebrew etc.) than to put all the effort to make a nice stable v5.x and then translate it to the languages supported before… the resources will be “completely” changed and it would be a double work on translation…
Good point and something I hadn’t even considered, so does that mean we will be seeing version 5.0 soon then ;D ;D
I’m very good at reading what is ‘not’ written between the lines,
Well, I would be careful about such conclusions
bmossavari, thanks for your offer. If you are interested, I can send you the translation package, together with furher instructions about the translations. However, Maxx is basically right; we are working on avast! 5.0 now which will have a completely new user interface.
Even though it might not be obvious on the first sight, translating of avast! user interface is quite a big job - a lot of work that usually takes months to finish (there are exceptions, of course, some translators - such as Technical - are very fast, but usually, if the translator works on the translation in his/her free time, it really takes long). So, it can happen that soon after (or even before) the new translation is finished, avast! 5.0 is released and a big part of the translation will have to be done again (right now, I don’t know if any parts of the user interface will be reused, or if everything will be brand new - but the new part will certainly be big).
So, as I said - I can send you the translation package if you are really interested, but (like Maxx) I also don’t think this is a good time to start a new translation.
Well I think you know I was fishing ;D, trying catch a scrap of information on a more detailed release (but no one took the bait) than the first half of 2009 ;D
It took me long also… just that was a period with a lot of spare time
Hope you can send avast 5 for translation with quite some time… It’s a time consuming activity for sure…
Meanwhile, I suggest the user get used with avast concepts, settings, etc. This will help a lot to do a good translation.
@Igor:First of all thank you for respond
I’m going to translate Avast at my free time so I think it would better to translate 5.x version instead of 4.x but it would be a good idea to see the 4.x package to get the image (how big is) and also to get familiar with it ;D
Meanwhile, I suggest the user get used with avast concepts, settings, etc. This will help a lot to do a good translation.@Tech:Sure I'm getting used to it :)
Kind Regards,
Might I suggest Re-Captcha (http://recaptcha.net/) be used for the anti-bot system? It works pretty well, I use it on my SMF forum.
It won’t keep actual people from generating pm’s or posts when they first join, but it will surely keep the bots out.
