avast 4.8 anti-virus detected that my phantasy star universe game as a Win32:Trojan-gen {Other} virus/worm when it isnt a real virus on the 2nd scan this week when I just bought the game recently so I’m wondering if it can be fixed so I can be able to play it again atleast of the game
You could also check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner and report the findings here. I feel virustotal is the better option as it uses the windows version of avast (more packers supported) and there are currently over 30 different scanners.
If it is indeed a false positive, see http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=34950.msg293451#msg293451, how to report it to avast! and what to do to exclude them until the problem is corrected.
please send copy of the file, you are thinking is a false positive, to virus@avast.com. Please attach it in password protected archive (7z, zip, …) with password “virus” without quotes. Please to subject write “false positive”.
We have to look inside the file to repair our detection routines.
