Hi !

Avast have found this virus (phish-bankfraud1-troj) and can’t remove-rename-cancel it ! Do you have some good suggestions ?

Hi, welcome to the forums.

  • What OS are you using? is it up to date?
  • avast! version and VPS file (virus database) number, e.g. 0436-4 (see about avast!)
  • What was the virus name, what was the filename, where was it found
    example (C:\windows\system32\infected-filename.xxx)?

  • my OS is Windows ME
  • avast! version is 4.1.501, VPS number is 0445-2
  • virus name was phish-bankfraud1-troj[Htm], it was found in c:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\E9A7KLCB\mesg[1].mail\mesg[1] [L] Phish-Bankfraud1-Troj [Htm].

I tried again to empty the Temporary Internet Files manually, but unsuccessfully.

Boot in safe mode and delete everything in that folder.
