Over the past few weeks I’ve begun getting redirected to phishing sites while using my Facebook app on my Android. It typically happens while browsing these side sites that feature categorized memes collections. The site I’m most frequently redirected to is fashino58.Com. Once redirected I get a fake virus warning, prompting me to download some software.
After doing an online search about this site, I started to notice that there are issues all over the net whether it be redirection from using a website, or from using different apps. This obviously is beginning to be a headache for all sorts of people. This issue prompted me to install an antivirus protection on my phone. I chose avast, as it is what I use on my laptop.
What concerns me though, is that the software has done nothing about being redirected to a phishing website, despite the fact that the option is turned on. Is this because I’m being redirected from my Facebook app? Or am I misunderstanding the option?
