Phone sold, AT still active!

I recently sold a phone that had had Avast Mobile on it. I’m certain I went though the removal wizard but the new owner says the phone is locked and I am getting texts from Avast indicating the SIM has changed. It seems Anti-theft is still active on it!

I’d like to disable it so the new owners can use the phone. Can this be accomplished using the “set protection 0” option in the SMS commands? Is there anyway to wipe AT completely remotely?

Thanks! And thanks for a great product that seems to work even a little betting than I though!

Hello,

the set protection command would disable Anti-Theft.
still - I would contact the new owner and tell him how to uninstall Anti-Theft.

to uninstall Anti-Theft please proceed as follows:

open your phone’s app manager and uninstall the app with the custom name you chose on installing avast! Anti Theft.
If the uninstall fails please remove the app from the device administrators list (you can find it in your phone’s settings).

to remove root installations of avast! Anti-Theft you can use the “avast! Anti-Theft removal wizard” or use the free tool “Titanium Backup”.

alternatively we offer a uninstall.zip at
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27553331/uninstall%20rootinstalltion.zip
unzip it and run uninstall.bat with your phone connected via USB to the pc. make sure usb-debugging is enabeled on your phone and the phone driver is installed on the PC.
If you do it on the PC where you rooted your phone you usually have these drivers available.

Thanks for the help! I didn’t realize ant-theft would be visible in the app manager once hidden in the launcher. I see it now on another phone.
