Dear Forum Users,

Can anybody suggest an user-friendly software program to create photo shows and burn them to DVD?

A friend had been using Nero Photoshow 4 Deluxe until it was discontinued by Nero. The new version (Roxio) is not user-friendly at all. In addition the new Nero 9 which has a Photoshow function is also very complex and not too user-friendly to use.

I hope somebody can suggest a program which is very easy to use. The basic function it needs would be to create a photo show from a series of photos, add basic text and effects and finally burn it to a DVD.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your reply. My friend downloaded Pictomio from your list and will test it out.

She is specifically looking for a program similar to Nero Photoshow 4.5 Deluxe which:

  • is compatible with Window$ 7
  • is easy to use to create photoshows
  • doesn’t have the 1,000,000 confusing editing options for professionals
  • however allows basic editing of photos and insertion of effects

If anybody had a personal recommendation or tip I would be most grateful.

PS: She has already tried:

  • Photostory for Window$, however it only works on XP
  • Photoshop elements is too complicated.
  • Ashampoo Photo Commander ruins the quality of the pictures in the slideshow

Photoshow is it the same as photo slide show?
I think onetruemedia is the best photo slide show editor… but it’s not really program…
