I’m using Thunderbird v91.12.0. After installing Avast One (free), pictures in my emails don’t show up, only their placeholders. How do I get them to show up again?
Is there a reason for using this old version of Thunderbird, the latest release is 102.3.0 ?
Unless you an old OS that doesn’t support this it would be better to update. The reason I say this is as other programs that interact with it (like your AV) may no longer be compatible.
What version number and build of Avast One are you using ?
Recently there have been some email issues with Avast, but that was somewhat different, unable to connect. There has recently be an Avast Update 22.9 which resolved that in the Avast Antivirus branch of the AV. I’m not sure if that has yet been released in Avast One, as I don’t use Avast One.
Hi. I’ve upgraded to Thunderbird 102.3.1 64 bit. For some reason auto updates didn’t work and the version I had showed as current version. Avast Ver 22.9.6034 build 22.9.7554.734, vdef 221002-4. Problem still persists with pictures not displaying in emails.
Try a manual Avast One program update to ensure you have the latest version of Avast One. If there is one or you have the latest version, have you restarted the system (power off restart), since installing you restarted the system, this is required to apply the changes.
I’ve done a manual Avast update as requested. I did a system restart. Problem still present. When I disable all shields in Avast, all pictures in the emails appear as they should.
You could try disabling only the Email Mail, function rather than all shields to confirm that is the issue.
