I have never written on here before, but I am really stuck. Oh well here goes, I am currently running a fire wall and avast 4.6 version. For about 3 months the scan gets to about 4000 files and then big warning signs come up saying Infection,
the file name is C:_restore\temp\A0020373.cpy\save.exe
malware name: win32. adware-gen (adw)
when i try to put it in the chest it says an error has occurred, i have googled it but don’t seem to get anywhere.

What is the exact error message that you receive?
Did you tried a boot-time scan?
What is your OS, avast! version ?

The "(adw)" indicates this is "adware" and NOT a "virus"
per se. Probably would be easiest if you ran antiSPYWARE
scan(s) or perhaps a FREE program like "Ewido" from
www.ewido.net/en to get rid of this .

Consider using an alternate browser like Firefox, Flock or Opera with a scriptblocker and adblocker plug-in like NoScript and Adblock pro.
