I’ve just suffered severe brain damage trying to renew Symantec Small Business protection by navagating a byzantine ring of websites, they have about 7 different websites and logins for doing different things at Symantec.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, I implore you Avast, do not make it difficult to take the customers money.
I recently decided to upgrade a customer to Avast Small business. And now I find that I have to purchase it through a reseller.
I’ve deployed Avast Endpoint protection now at four locations with 10+ seats. And I was very impressed how easy it was to purchase and deploy.
The whole reason I’ve switched to Avast was to escape the opression of Symantec’s bloated, overcomplicated license/purchase stucture. (Not to mention it’s horrible ability at catching viruses)
Of course I look like a loon with a head injury now. But this morning when I attempted to buy several licenses, there was a red box, that said “minimum licenses required” and then the Buy Avast Button was greyed out, and the Purchase via Reseller was blue.
Now it looks like that was swapped around. Maybe my whining worked.
Looks like its swapped back again. Red box there the whole time and ‘Add to Cart’ greyed out. Pricing Table is blank. My purchase duration and number of clients is dependent on the pricing structure. I’ve found in the past telephone desk is inefficient and difficult to get the various packages correct.
Minimum purchase for the endpoint products is usually 5 seats. What is the quantity you are trying to order?
Also most resellers make it very easy to purchase, you can call one or go to their online store if they have one. They can also offer some discounts the website does not depending on the promotions in the channel at the time and the reseller is usually in your area and time zone so no language barrier to call a foreign sales team or email and wait for a response.
If you purchase from a reseller, then you would recive free quality tech support (at least that’s the way we work) I believe that has been the number 1 issue with avast! over the last decade. It hard hard to get tech support from Prague, in the USA. I have changed that for my clients!
